Dry fields in west central Ohio causing early issues in corn

DuPont Pioneer Field Agronomist Kyle Poling covers the west central part of Ohio and parts of his area have been drier than normal as the growing season begins. After over 40 years of farming ground in Hardin and Auglaize Counties, Al Walton is planting his last crop in 2018. Chasing moisture with seeding depth not recommended

Even though a good part of Ohio has seen some rain recently, there are some parts that haven’t seen a drop in weeks. That may have some farmers wanted to plant a little deeper to try to get that seed to some moisture a little further in the dirt.
