Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast November 19, 2019

Not much change in the outlook this morning, although the pattern feels just a  little wetter going forward. Today we don’t see much going on, just a mix of clouds and sun. Low clouds and fog can be an issue today, but will vary dependent on location. Temps remain cool. Tomorrow we see sunshine and a much warmer afternoon. Tomorrow likely is the warmest day of the week, and will have the best drying potential. We stay mild into early Thursday but clouds will be building overnight tomorrow night and Thursday morning.

Our next frontal complex moves in for Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. Rains are likely and will range from .1″-.5″ with 80% coverage. Later Friday we see some clearing over the northern half of the state, but see additional lingering showers in the southern half to third of Ohio. We will use I-70 as a general cut off, but that does not mean it rains right up to that I-70 corridor. That southern Ohio action on Friday will be hit and miss, with about 50% coverage. A better wave of moisture comes into the state from the SW on Saturday, bringing potential for an additional .25″-.5″  with 100% coverage.

All moisture finally leaves overnight Saturday night. Sunday look to turn out mostly sunny but cooler. Than we stay dry for Monday as well, but start to become milder with partly sunny skies. Next Tuesday starts with sun, but clouds build for the afternoon and evening. This will be in advance of our next front, a system that sweeps through all of Ohio next Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. We expect rain totals from .25″-1″ with coverage at 100% of Ohio. This will be a significant rain event, but will be – in fact – all rain. Temps stay up through the event. Then for Thanksgiving day next Thursday, we feature a mix of clouds and sun, and it will be a bit cooler. The map at right shows rain totals for the next 10 days, the period ending Thanksgiving Day.

Over the next 10 days, temps will average normal to slightly above normal. We do not see any significant cold snap into early December.
