The Miami Trace general livestock team which consisted of Colt Penwell, Austin Chester, Jamie Payton, and Trevor Kirkpatrick, all competed at the 84th National convention in the National General Livestock judging contest, and as a team received 6th place overall.  They also received 3rd place overall on the written exam. This was a great accomplishment by the livestock team. As they competed, the team placed various livestock animals and gave their oral reasons for their placings, and took a written exam. The students competed against many different livestock judging teams from FFA chapters from many different states. As individuals, Colt Penwell led the Miami Trace team receiving 8th high overall individual, and received 4th high individual in sheep judging. Because of his placing, Colt received a $1000 scholarship award.  Second for the team was Austin Chester, next were Jamie Payton, and then Trevor Kirkpatrick. All teammates gave great contributions to the livestock team, earning the team a gold star award.  The team also worked very hard at the contest, and the Miami Trace FFA would like to congratulate the General livestock team in their achievements and hard work, and thank them for making the Miami Trace FFA proud.
